Math in the Real World

In conjunction with our study of Math, the 5th grade classes are taking a trip to Reynolda Manor to learn how math is used in the “real world”. We will be visiting Lowes Foods, The Framing Gallery, Hancock Fabrics, and Reynolda Library to see how they use math in their work. Mrs. Kooken’s class will walk to the shopping center on the morning of Thursday, November 6, 2008. Ms. Linhart's class will walk on Thursday the 20th, while Mrs. Smith and Ms. Grissard's classes will go on Wednesday, November 12th. There is no cost associated with this field trip. I wonder how many kilometers it is to Reynolda Manor. How many miles is that? Put on your walking shoes.

Pumpkins, Pumpkins, Pumpkins

Tell me one thing you learned on Wednesday when we worked with the pumpkins.

Time, time, time

My to do list is too long. My days are too short and I can't wait to catch up. Maybe by the time Rob has surgery.

Well, it didn't happen and I'm even more behind.
